Homage to Catalonia: In Celebration of the Centenary of Xavier Montsalvatge

28 September 2012: The Foundation for Iberian Music’s artist-in-residence Perspectives Ensemble will perform a concert with Ángel Gil-Ordóñez as Principal Guest Conductor at the Morgan Library and Museum featuring the new composition by Benet Casablancas.  Founded in 1993 by Artistic Director Sato Moughalian, Perspectives Ensemble historically and culturally contextualizes the works of composers in its performance events.  Casablancas’ new work is the 2012 Composer’s Commission and part of the  Xavier Montsalvatge (1912-2012) Centennial celebration.  A preview of the concert and roundtable will be presented at Instituto Cervantes on September 27.
