Long Island City

Hotels in Manhattan are rather expensive. Queensboro Plaza is only one stop away from Lexington Avenue in Manhattan on the N & Q trains, or four stops from Grand Central Station on the 7 train. It is approximately 15 minutes from the Graduate Center. Hotels are available there for under $150/night.

The Graduate Center is located in bustling midtown Manhattan and there are many inexpensive dining options on each block, including standard fast food fare, local cafes, “Irish” pubs, and a few more expensive sit-down options.  We are also only a few blocks from Korea Town, and a slightly longer walk from so-called Curry Hill (28th St in Murray Hill, where there are many Indian restaurants). One may walk in any direction from the Graduate Center and find numerous places to eat. Below is a list of cheap, popular, and/or recommended options. Restaurants that offer vegetarian fare are marked with a V.
