This conference will be part of the Encuentros/Encounters series, an annual conference on Iberian and Latin American music that is also being held at UC Riverside earlier that month. This year’s conference is dedicated to the memory of María Rosa Menocal, the renowned Yale Hispanist who passed away late last year. Among her many accomplishments, Menocal is known for her book The Ornament of the World: How Muslims, Jews, and Christians Created a Culture of Tolerance in Medieval Spain.
