Rossini’s “La Veuve andalouse” Antoni Pizà and María Luisa Martínez (resident scholar at the Foundation for Iberian Music) will be presenting a lecture with Ilaria Narici (musicologist and general manager of Hal Leonard) at an upcoming event in Barcelona. Presented by the Círculo del Liceo, the event commemorates the 150th anniversary of Rossini’s death and will be focused on his song “La Veuve andalouse” (The Andalusian Widow). It will be held in Barcelona on December 20, 2018. Closing out the event will be a performance by renowned Spanish baritone Simón Orfila. This event is open only to members of the Círculo del Liceo, the society of Barcelona’s historic Gran Teatre del Liceu.
